Courses Offered and Schedule


Summer 2019 Class


We will be offering a 6 week German conversation course that focuses on German culture starting on Saturday May 11th. It is recommended that you have at least an intermediate knowledge of German to take the course.

The class will be taught by Ray Hattaway, who is an experienced teacher at FSU and the German School. It will run from May 11 to June 15. Cost is $25 per class for students and $30 per class for adults. The class will take place in Rm 129 of the Diffenbaugh building on the FSU Campus.

All classes are 2 hour classes on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

The student or parent is free to choose which level is best for them or their child.

Beginning German for Children, 5 years-11 years

Courses for Middle School/High School Students and Adults:


Beginning German I

Beginning German II

Intermediate German

Advanced German and Preparation for German Language Diploma Exams


Some classes may require texts or workbooks. Costs for the texts or workbooks run from $20 to $40. Info on books requred, and how to order them will be given out by the instructors.


If you want to sign you, or your child, up for a fall class, send an e-mail to our director, Konrad Plendl at Include the level of class you or child want to take, your and/or your child's name, and a contact phone number.


If you or your child are unable to sign up for a whole semester, or can't get to classes on Saturday mornings, then you can study German individually with one of our German tutors. Contact Director Konrad Plendl at for more information on individual instruction.


We are working on payment over the web, and will have it available well before the first class in the fall on Sept. 7th, 2019. You can also pay by check by mail, or by check or credit card on the first day. Payment must be recieved before you or your child attends a class. If 3 people don't sign up for a class it will be canceled, and cost will be refunded to those who have paid for it.
